London Fashion Week kicks off despite the aggressive arrival of Storm Eunice. Amid the harsh weather condition, nothing was stopping seasoned fashion insiders from taking a first look at next season’s hottest designs from the Capital’s rising talents. Here’s what you can’t miss on day 1 of London Fashion Week 2022.

Bora Aksu

Bora Aksu never fails to deliver a stunning collection infusing the past and present. For AW22 the brand decidedly transports us to the 14th Century, evoking the zeitgeist of renaissance Europe through the life of writer, poet and historian Christine de Pizan. The new seasonal collection takes you on a trip to the seminal period in European history and comprises of demi-couture pieces the brand is so well known for.

Poster Girl

Coming out of nowhere, Poster Girl has taken over the fashion scene in 2021 in a whirlwind. The London-based cult label, known for its figure hugging, skin baring onesies and dresses loved by the likes of Kylie Jenner and Dua Lipa, debuts at London Fashion Week this season and was one of the most in-demand shows. Despite its affordable pricing, Poster Girl shows fashion critics it also does runway worthy high fashion well. The wild and fun collection, featuring contrasting neon shades and earthy tones, brings a breath of fresh air to the London scene where oversized cool normally rules supreme.

Mark Fast

The OG in inventive demi-couture, Mark Fast incorporates new elements into its signature knitted designs. From detached puffer sleeves to floor-sweeping tassles, the collection features all colors under the sun, from neutral tones to striking shades. The eponymous designer behind the brand expands on the style of the purveyors of nightlife, showing bolder silhouettes and more volume while adhering to his signature body forming knit dresses. The marriage of oversized outerwear with slinky minis shows an unapologetically confident flare.
